    Wintrac Xtreme is a high performance winter tyre designed by Giugiaro. The unique W-shaped tread pattern gives a powerful appearance to the tyre. Developed with Optimum Silica Processing technology, the tread compound enhances winter performance and ensures good grip on wet surfaces. Equally distributed pressure across the tread reduces noise level and increases the life expectancy of the tyre. The innovative sipe technology and the saw-like sipes offer good grip on compressed snow. Wintrac Xtreme promises high performance and good steering response. Also the tyre's rim protector protects the wheels from accidental damages.

      I wanted Conti-Winters or Pirelli Sotto's but couldn't get the sizes I required for both axles, and wasn't prepared to mix. On my second set now, and used well into the summer too. A great tyre that is actually quieter than the Conti 3's and Conti 5's I've had as my summer preference in the past - despite the tread pattern being aggressive. Grip is excellent on both dry and snow, roadholding is good too, and the tyre is comforatable. My only issue is that in the extreme wet whilst on a motorway, I was losing traction and stability. I can only assume this is down to the tread pattern, and lack of clear and straight water channels, as found on summer tyres. A bonus however, is that the wear rate is excellent - at least half that of the conti's. Combine this with the price (compared to Conti, Pirelli & Michelin winters), you can't go wrong! I will definatley continue to use these Vredesteins.
