40% growth for PNEUS ONLINE™

Pneus Online™, reference website in the online sale of tyres on the Internet, realized a growth of 40 % of its turnover in the 1st quarter 2010. Pioneer at the time of its launch in 2001, the giant of the online tyre goes into high gear.

A harsh winter and a difficult economical environment enhance the growth of the discounter

When the growth of the other E-commerce websites are generally settling down, Pneus Online™, which starts its 9th year of activity, enjoys a 40% growth in the 1st quarter 2010.

« This growth can be explained by various factors » explains Alexis NERGUISIAN, Director of Pneus Online™, « first, the harsh winter that Europe has known and which favoured the purchase of winter tyres in the beginning of this year ». He adds « Then, Pneus Online™ strongly worked on lowering even more our selling prices on many tyre dimensions. Finally, purchasing tyres on the internet is becoming a habit in the United Kingdom, and this phenomenon has been emphasised by the economic crisis: the customer looks for the best price and ends up choosing Internet».

Products diversification and geographical extension planned

This is not enough for Pneus Online™. To meet constant demand, the company diversified its offer by selling alloy wheels on its website at the end of March 2010. Kevin Castelain, international online marketing manager at Pneus Online™, explains: « It was a mandatory step. Even if tyres will remain our core business, selling wheels is a fine complement for expanding our product line and attracting new customers ».

Pneus Online™ also speeds up its international development. Already present in 11 countries after opening itself to the Netherlands and Ireland, three new countries will be launched before the end of this year.
