40% Growth for Pneus Online

Pneus Online, the Swiss online retailer who is present in the UK market with the website www.tyres-pneus-online.co.uk, has announced that it has achieved 40% growth during the first quarter of 2010.
The company, which is in its ninth year of activity, says that sales have been enhanced by the harsh winter and the difficult economic environment.

“This growth can be explained by various factors” explains Alexis Nerguisian, Director of Pneus Online. “First, the harsh winter that Europe has known and which favoured the purchase of winter tyres in the beginning of this year. Then, Pneus Onlin has worked strongly on lowering our selling prices on many tyre dimensions even more. Finally, purchasing tyres on the internet is becoming a habit in the United Kingdom, and this phenomenon has been emphasised by the economic crisis: the customer looks for the best price and ends up choosing the Internet”.

This, however, is not enough for Pneus Online. At the end of March, the company diversified its offer by selling alloy wheels on its website. Kevin Castelain, international online marketing manager at Pneus Online, explains:

“It was a mandatory step. Even if tyres remain our core business, selling wheels is a fine complement for expanding our product line and attracting new customers”.

Pneus Online is currently present in 11 countries with three new countries being launched before the end of this year. The company claims to have one of the biggest partner fitting stations network in Europe with over 13,000 fitting centres across the continent. Pneus Online made a €14.7 million turnover in 2009 selling in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Austria, France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italia and Ireland.
