Prices charged by different tyre fitters associated with an online shop can vary by as much as the same cost again.

Sometimes to save money you don't always save time... Specialist tyre discount websites offering tyres at rock bottom prices such as Pneus Online advertise widely differing prices for fitting. By way of example, the Garage des Trounières in Granges-sur-Vologne charges €11 and the Centre européen du pneu in Nancy charges €10 for steel rims or €11 for alloys, whereas AS Autopneus in Besançon charges €21.53. The garage in Nancy serves the customers of 11 websites covering the area and that in Besançon serves the customers of all tyre discount websites. The Nancy fitter currently fits over 100 tyres a day which shows the success being enjoyed by tyre sellers over the Internet. The tyres can either be delivered to the customer's home address or straight to the partner fitting centre. Some of the sites even notify their customers by e-mail to arrange fitting when the tyres have arrived. Delivery time for the tyres is between 2 days and a week, or around 10 days for the less common tyres sizes. On top of that, appointment times for fitting range from 24 hours to three or four days, depending on how busy they are - at the moment, there is a rush to fit winter tyres.
