THE 4L TROPHY ADVENTURE CONTINUES FOR ARNAUD AND JULIEN
This year, Arnaud Jumeline and Julien Carry took part in the 9th 4L Trophy. 672 cars started the rally organised in collaboration with UNICEF. The teams transported sixty-five tonnes of school equipment to Morocco. In 2007, over a thousand cars are expected to participate.
'Beyond being just a sporting challenge, this rally is also a humanitarian mission whose purpose is to help Moroccan children have access to education', explains Arnaud.' That said, there is still the small matter of the 8,000 km of Moroccan dunes and plateaus to negotiate! Before their departure, Arnaud and Julien organised a partnership with the Alain Fournier School. Other schools, including the Mazaire school in la Chapelle-sur-Erde are also planning on joining them.
Multiple questions from the ten year-olds of the CM1 class
When they came back, they showed the film of the rally to the children of the CM1 class and their teacher, and answered a raft of questions. The success of their expedition surpassed their expectations: At Merzouga, the Hassilabiad and Hamou Marouch Association announced that they would be happy to welcome 50 French children. For Arnaud, there is no question he will participate in the 2007 4L Trophy: 'I want to finalise the proposals made with the Merzouga association and iron out the details for welcoming the French kids in 2007 or 2008. Both Julien and I are ready to attack the desert if for no other reason than to see the smiles on the faces of the kids over there, who sometimes travel over 15km on foot just to come and meet us'.
Arnaud and Julien are appealing to their partners, the Caisse d'épargne des Pays de la Loire, Pneus-Online, Cabinet Bessé, Renault dealers in Châteauroux and La Ferté-Bernard along with all those who would like to join them, to make 2007 just as successful as 2006.
