    Nexen N8000 sports a typical winter tread design. The tread has 3 + 1 wide and straight channels to take care of aquaplaning resistance and wet traction.       I bought 4 of these because the price was £80 each vs £168-£208 for the tyres I had in the past but the reviews were OK and German magazine tests were mostly favourable. I am very pleased with them and would buy them again in a heartbeat. I'm a convert to Nexen and would not by premium brands again as I think most of the premium goes on advertising, vanity, and sports sponsorship these days. These tyres don't tramline on worn roads and are VERY quiet and stable at 100MPH. i expect they would be poor on snow and mud as the tread is just several straight ribs so rated them 3 as it won't let me skip that.

      I haven't done many miles, so difficult to rate the wear, I only do 4000 a year in this car so not too worried if they wear quickly, also not tried on snow yet so given midway score. Most noticable is quiet ride and good grip in the wet (very good compared to Pirellis that were on previously). Provided they give reasonable mileage and don't start falling apart I would give them top marks considering the price.
