The Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance's new "Activebraking" technology maximises the contact surface between the tyre and the road, giving a shorter braking distance. The Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance "wearControl" system also improves braking on wets road and reduces rolling resistance, thus reducing fuel consumption considerably.

      Being rear wheel drive I noticed the difference immediately following previous Avons. The grip in the wet is excellent especially in cornering, and whereas before by back end would slide relatively easily when powering out of a junction (which I quite enjoyed!!) you really have to give it some to do the same with these tyres. My only concern is that as I build confidence in the wet and on greasy roads, when they do let go, it will be at a speed that will probably be enough to write the car off!! Otherwise its too early to tell about how long they will last, or how fuel economy would improve and yet to try in snow, but dont expect much.
